Day 0 : Egg of a Giant Redeye

Day 1: A caterpillar coming out of the egg

The caterpillars of skippers like Giant Red-Eye take much longer than butterflies of other families to pupate.

A pupa. A Giant Red-eye pupates inside a cell that it makes out of the palm / banana leaf. The one shown below fell out of the cell and died later. Do not attempt to open the cell as it may expose them to predators.
